Experimental Portraits - Agustín

My model portrait session with Agustín is another example of having very cool model friends who are willing to be creative together in a photo session. Many of these photos were shot after the lifting of Covid restrictions here in Madrid, and I feel that the mood of post-quarantine, and all of the emotional effects of that time in our lives, subconsciously came through in our imagery together.

This was another session where we were able to shoot a wide variety of really interesting imagery that were finished works in their own right, but they were also the seeds of ideas that I continued to explore in the sessions after this one.

I'm struck by how the images captured that period of time, and equally surprised how my view of them has changed. It reminds me of how beautiful and impactful portraits can be over time. In a way, they are living ideas that constantly grow and morph as we grow older, or as other people experience them at different points in the image’s life.

You will see in our session together that we were also working on some modeling images for his portfolio, but we quickly ventured into more experimental and dramatic types of imagery together.
