Madrid Portraits - Mathilda

These portraits had everything going for them from the beginning because they were shot on my birthday!

Like many good photos, some of these photos came about due to limitations or problems during the photo session. We had some issues with the backdrop, so we were forced to shoot outside of our original plan, which ended up leading me into very fertile creative territory.

At the time I was also really enjoying street photography and had a lot of those techniques and ideas floating in my imagination, which I think came through in these.

None of it would be possible without the mesmerizing and talented Mathilda Toresdotter co-creating these along with me as we really just played and collaborated our way through this set.

I haven't done a birthday shoot since, but now that I think about this again, I may shoot another birthday shoot soon because this one turned out so magically.
