Madrid Portraits - Lou
One of the fringe benefits of being a photographer is that so many of your friends and work contacts are super creative and interesting people. My friend Lou Stokes is such an inspiring and interesting person. She is an educator and advocate for sustainable fashion and sustainable practices for clothing manufacturers. She's also an advisor for a new Spanish Fashion House, Elio Berhanyer, and a gifted yoga instructor at two yoga studios here in Madrid.
I worked with Lou for several years as a stylist on my photo projects and I figured it was time to spend some time with her in front of my camera as a model in my studio in Madrid.
In every session, I always invite the team members to bring their imagination and creativity to our sessions. Our make-up artist, Luca Cálo, was inspired to try some fun pop art-inspired makeup at the end of our session. While Lou needed some new creative portraits and headshots for her new website and expanding roles in the fashion industry. For my part, I always admired Lou as a yoga teacher, so was the inspiration that inspired me in the session.
My only regret is that I didn’t have time to create video and motion during our time together! Having a fun and talented team to work with is always my favorite way to create!
