Set Stills and Key Art For “Montera” Music Video in Madrid

Working on set stills for any motion production is a challenge.  You’re working off of lighting crafted too dark for most still photography and the time is less than ideal. But, it’s an amazing opportunity to tell two stories at once!  In this case, I was capturing the cover art for the music video, but I also had the opportunity to tell the story of the production, which as you can see…was so much fun!

In this all-day production, we had multiple sets and dozens of extras and actors so it was a fast-paced day!  The challenge with shooting motion stills is to be in the right place to capture interesting frames, but also be aware of the production team and keep out of the way of the scene and the director.   It is a fast-paced dance and an adrenaline-filled day.

The creativity and the energy of being on set were their own reward but, I was also awarded the coveted AP39 Chosen Winner award for one of the photos from this shoot!
